RVing has its surprises

Day 7 The adventure continues

We left North Dakota early in a light rain.

For the first 50 miles we were the only one on the roads.  Really smooth going.  As we approached Billings, we could see in the distance snow cover mountains.

Really a beautiful sight.  The snow covered mountains continued all of the way to Livingston, our destination.  Stopping in a rest area for lunch, we experienced a rather nagging smell.  I thought that maybe this was the result of high winds and that we were parked in the leeward side of a tractor trailer.  The smell went away as we traveled on down the road.  However, at our campground it came back.  I turned on some fans and vented it out.  But as we went to bed I cut these off and shortly afterwards, our CO detector sounded off.  Again, turning on the fans exhausted it.  Still there was a small odor was present.  After we awakened, I texted for help.  Doing several test we found a small valve turned on our stove that was on.  Turning it off, we have lost the smell.

Another thing that happened, was as I walked around the RV and noticed that one of the tires was down.  Being a good boy scout, I had an air pump with us.  As I tried to air the tire, I noticed a couple of large bulges on the sidewall.  Now, I could see that it was time for an expert with another tire to come to our aid.  Calling several dealerships, there was no matching Michelen in stock.  In fact, it would be Friday at the best to get another Michelen.  BTW, 2 months ago fearing that my tires were not good enough to make the trip, I bought a whole set.  It was one of these tires that went down.  I agreed with a tire store in Boseman to put on a like tire not Michelen.  They tell me that by lunch today they can get us taken care.  Fingers crossed that this will happen.  Never a dull moment.  Luckily all of this did not happen on the long empty areas that we drove through earlier.
