Scenic Drives

June 16

As we start our day with breakfast our cats like to entertain us.

Harley decided that he would play a little “hide and seek”.

Today we decided that we wanted to drive a couple of the “scenic byways”.

Let me tell you that all scenic byways are that.  First, we traveled one nearly to Canada.

All we saw that was scenic was heavy traffic both coming and going to Canada.

There was a neat little town that we finally turned around in call Bonner’s Ferry.

The town was a point for the traders and miners to stop and cross the Kootenai River in order to get to the gold fields and hunting grounds.  While in heavy traffic, we met a train coming down the tracks that was over a mile long with nothing but oil cars.  I guess this will replace the “pipeline”.  The area seemed to have a lot of Trump signs and “Do not tread on me” flags.

On the return trip we decided to drive the “Lake Coeur d’Alene Scenic Drive”.

This was to be about a 30 mile “loop” however, the drive turned into a 50-mile curvy road overlooking the lake.  There were some beautiful homes tucked into some unbelievable locations.  Some were attached to the hillside just above the waters edge.  Others were located on small amounts of land.  Reaching the top of the hill and the ground leveling out, we saw two beautiful homes adjoining some green pastures.

Again, my proof reader was not available.  We are going to have to have a talk about this.
