The begining May 26

As we finished our early morning workout Jan told me that she was having a toothache.  This was just what we needed as we head out on 3 week trip.  She remembered that her dentist came in about 7.  So off she went to be at his office when he opened.  Luckily, she was able to get in.  The results were not so good. However, thanks to modern medicine we were off by 9 am.  The trip was very uneventful.  We took I-40 to Jackson and from there highway 412 to Walnut Ridge, AR.  As we left Jackson we went through land that was unbelievably FLAT.  I had never been this way before and extremely surprised.  The road was nearly vacant even though it was 4 lane.  As we crossed the Mississippi into Missouri the flatness continued.  With traffic still light it gave me more time to scan the area including the sky.  The sky was the most interesting because of all the crop dusters flying.  Great fun watching them work.  One, even,...

The return to Southwest Colorado

We have failed to bring our blog up to date for over two years thus things have changed with blog.  I thought this picture kind of signified how we travel.  SLOW in our metal covered wagon.  This shot was from  Beaufort, SC on our spring trip to Charleston.   Because I am having to become educated as to how to use this again you will see major mistakes.   Now I want to try and give an overview of our planned trip to Colorado. Since it has been so long since I have done one of these blogs, I hope that I am doing it correctly.   On Wednesday, May 26, we will begin a trip into the southwest corner of Colorado.  Our intent is to go on I 40 to Gallup, NM and spend an extra night there to visit some of the area(Chaco Canyon etc.) Then drive north to Cortez, CO for a few days hoping to see the Durango(maybe if there is room on the train ride it up to Silverton), there is also an area across the border into Utah that has a gooseneck on a river(p...
